Lawrence Burns Photography

About Me

Hey there! My name is Lawrence Burns, and I have been a photographer for over 20 years, with experience shooting just about anything and everything including dramatic portraits, business headshots, dangerous wildlife, beautiful landscapes, and fine art.

In 2011 I was a founding member of FotoworkStudios in Abilene, TX.

From 2011 to 2013 I was a member of the West Texas Photographic Society where I had several 1st Place awards including the highest scoring photograph in the organization's 30+ year history.

From 2012 to 2013 I was a photography instructor, teaching beginner's and intermediate photography classes in Abilene, TX and in Longview, TX.

In 2013 I was published by National Geographic.

From 2014 to 2021 I focused on wildlife photography and producing fine art prints. Now in 2022, I'm excited to say I'm once again devoting my skills and my equipment to serving Longview and East TX with dramatic portraits, business headshots, and event photography! Unfortunately at this time I do not offer photography services for weddings, families, or children.

FAQ's
(Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: What makes you different than other photographers?
A: I like my roses with a few thorns, my grays a little darker, my shadows a little deeper, my art with a sharp edge on it.

Q: What is a photo shoot with you like?
A: Fun, laid back, and addictive!

Q: How do I get the pictures after the photo shoot?
A: After I have finished processing the images you will receive full resolution, watermark-free, digital copies of the best pictures from the photo shoot delivered via email, DVD, or thumb drive (depending on number of images) along with written permission to copy, share, upload, and print the pictures wherever you like.

Q:

Q: Why don't you shoot weddings?
A: There are so many genres of photography that one simply can't be great at all of them. While I am an amazing photographer in many aspects, weddings is not one of them.

Q: Why don't you photograph people under 18?
A: If you look close enough at any great photograph you can see, or at least get a sense of, the relationship between the subject and the photographer. The best photographs come when that relationship includes trust and understanding. I don't understand children, and I certainly don't trust them.
